Formulation Suggestions

Recommended dosage: 1.0% - 5.0% (as supplied for an 80-85% active solution).

As a waxy solid, Behentrimonium Chloride must be melted into the heated oil phase (75-85°C) of your formulation to ensure it is fully solubilized. It works synergistically with fatty alcohols (like Cetearyl and Behenyl Alcohol) and cetyl esters to create a stable, dense lamellar gel network, which results in the thick, creamy texture characteristic of high-end conditioners. For optimal deposition, maintain the final formula's pH between 4.0 and 5.5.
