Product Description

Rutin is a premier, plant-derived bioflavonoid renowned for its powerful antioxidant and vascular protective properties. Naturally sourced from Sophora japonica, its primary value in skincare lies in its unique ability to strengthen capillary walls, reducing their permeability and fragility. This makes it a cornerstone ingredient for addressing the visible signs of microcirculation issues, such as persistent skin redness and sensitivity. In addition to its targeted action on capillaries, Rutin is a potent free-radical scavenger that helps protect the skin's structural proteins from environmental stressors and the damaging effects of photoaging. For brands developing high-performance solutions for sensitive, redness-prone skin, or targeted eye care products, our high-purity Rutin is the essential active for promoting a calm, resilient, and even-toned complexion.

Product Uses

  • Anti-Redness & Sensitive Skincare: The primary active in serums, creams, and masks designed to soothe sensitive skin, reduce the appearance of facial redness, and support skin prone to rosacea.
  • Eye Care Products: A key ingredient in eye creams and serums targeting dark circles and puffiness by helping to strengthen the delicate capillaries around the eye contour.
  • Protective & Anti-Aging Formulas: Used in daily-wear products to provide broad-spectrum antioxidant defense and help protect the skin's micro-vascular network from environmental damage.
  • Scalp Care: Incorporated into soothing scalp serums to help reduce scalp sensitivity and redness.

Formulation Suggestions

Recommended dosage: 0.1% - 2.0%.
The primary formulation challenge for Rutin is its very poor solubility in cold water. To incorporate it effectively into an aqueous system, we recommend creating a pre-mix by dissolving it in a suitable solvent like a blend of Propanediol and water with heating (to 60-70°C) until a clear solution is formed. This pre-mix can then be added to the main water phase during the cool-down stage. For maximum stability and to prevent discoloration, maintain the final formula at a slightly acidic pH (5.0-6.5) and use UV-protective, opaque packaging.

Our advice is for reference only. Please follow the recommendations of your formulator for actual production.
